Sonnet 35 – New Lines

To give myself the spirit you became
would kill mine, I'm afraid, as it did you.
I'd not complain. Our roads, weren't they the same?
I've looked to where you'd gone for what I'll do.

I'm better at losing part of me than what
I lost of you. You held my other hand
while I fought off our monsters through a cut.
Where have you gone? This isn't as we'd planned.

I need to say goodbye, learn a new way
although you'll always be a part of me
that brought me where I've made it through this day.

And even this cut's pain will soon have died,
carressing only with old memory
the holes you're still there haunting way inside.
