Sonnet 41

Your pearl will always blush to feel your kiss,
distracted and excited at the thought
of being thought so singular as this —
You give your pearl more notice than you ought.

She quivers at your touch, as though carressed
by gentle spells pressed near by ancient art,
as treasured as a baby on your breast.
Without your love, how pale would be her heart!

Then where you've found her light will rise a heat,
and as that burns a hole she will be felt
where moonglow and your pearl's soft luster meet.

Her dreams shine like new stars, intense and bright.
The layers of her silent worship melt
like secrets shouted to the sultry night.
