As Normal As It'll Get

My limerick portfolio's spotty,
my wit insufficiently bawdy.
     Yet I can contrive it:
     just get to me private
where my normal's no worse than my naughty.

do i ever write anything normal? i got challenged by my muse to write a limerick, as one way to maybe find out. limericks were never my strong suit and i’d be pretty content to let the one or two i’ve done before settle how weak i really am in that department. but one defies the wishes of one’s muse at one’s peril, doesn’t one? *grin*

           And traditional meanings within,
I myself took me out for a spin.
There’s no way I can lose
having you as my muse! –
It’s no shame riding you’s such a sin!

sweet ruin, you! sweet sweet ruin

    Love, m

Limerick muse! Give me more! I want twenty
thousand hundred and one. That’s as plenty
as should do us some justice,
should serve us, should lust us
as I do my sweet verse cognoscenti!

oh stab my heart with a kiss and put me out my misery. your limerick’s delights have been on my lips making me dance and sing all morning, intoxicated on your delicious tastes. this is what’s most normal for me: happy singing your words and feeling how they excite my own to come dance with yours

    Love, m

Like winter, a man’s nice to know, but
some things just don’t know when to go. What
                  one need’s enough heat
                  that can season that meat
as would cook up an adorable snowgut.

Most obvious of all my admissions
is that here’s where I’ve no inhibitions:
                  when under the spell
                  of moonlight’s terzanelle,
under’s one of my favorite positions.

And D? No, he won’t mind you checking
and licking and probing and pecking
                  the shiny and shady
                  parts of his old lady.
It’s only her honor you’re wrecking!

    So congressional! So presidential!
    Not against, rather self-referential
           like the limerick itself,
           stored away on some shelf,
is my head: shut down as non-essential.

Sincere comment by readers who accept responsibility for their words will earn my appreciation and response.
